Decatur police say three people were injured Monday when a Falkville police patrol vehicle rolled into a restaurant patio.
The incident happened at about 7:45 p.m., according to Decatur police, at Chipotle, 1109 Beltline Rd. S.E.
Officers arriving found a Falkville Police patrol vehicle in the restaurant’s patio.
Two adults and two children were transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital.
One of the children was later airlifted for further treatment.
The Falkville officer reported he had parked and exited the vehicle to go into the restaurant when it began to roll backwards. Investigators believe it was a vehicle malfunction, police said.
The Falkville Police Department responded and towed the vehicle.
