One man was killed, and two other people injured in a Sunday head-on traffic crash in Blount County.
Alabama State Troopers on Monday identified the fatality victim as David L. Davis. He was 64 and lived in Cullman.
The wreck happened at 5:50 p.m. on U.S. 278 near Pearman Road, about four miles east of Snead.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said Davis was driving a Ford F-150 that collided head-on with a Mazda 3 driven by 20-year-old Adam Schotti of Gadsden.
Davis, who was not using his seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to St. Vincent’s Blount where he died.
His passenger, 60-year-ol Cindy Davis, was taken to St. Vincent’s Blount. The severity of his injuries was not immediately known.
Schottl was also injured and airlifted to the UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
