A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Waterbury, officials said.

On Friday at 7:13 p.m., Waterbury police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Police said the boy was struck in the roadway in the area of 1200 Watertown Avenue.

The boy was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition, with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
