2023 Record: 12-3 (Lost to Liberty Christian 28-14 in State Championship Game)
Starters returning: 8 on offense, 8 on defense
Key players: Tight End Daniel Jackson, Senior Running Back Brayden Smalls
The Rams return a bevy of experienced players who played in last year’s State Championship loss to Liberty Christian. However, Lafayette’s 2024 class was one that was very dear to Coach Linn’s heart. Quarterback Hayden Oleksy (CNU) and Running Back Nazeer Wolmart, two incredibly important pieces to Linn’s unique offense, are hard to replace. He’s confident that this group can not only replace the holes that have been left, but get even better down the stretch.
“We have a young football team, but it’s a young experienced team… Going fifteen games last year, that’s experience you can’t coach. It’s a big group, but they are great kids. If you have great kids and you get good football players out of them, you got a chance,” said Linn.
