Fans cannot seem to forgive People Magazine for never awarding the title of Sexiest Man Alive to Henry Cavill. Since its inception in the 1980s, the title has been held by several handsome men in Hollywood. Cavill impressed fans with his looks and physique, especially since his portrayal of Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel.
Cavill’s role as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher also captured the stunning looks of the star. Despite being celebrated for his appearance, he still hasn’t claimed the coveted title. The recent recipients of the title include Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, and Michael B. Jordan.
Fans Are Unhappy That Henry Cavill Never Won People’s Sexiest Man Alive Title
While Man of Steel may not be many people’s favorite Superman film, Henry Cavill still managed to build a huge fanbase with his role as Superman. This fanbase was frustrated to find out that Cavill, who showed immense dedication to the role with his physical transformation, was never awarded People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
Cavill’s looks and physique have been topics of discussion for over a decade. Yet, fans were shocked to find out that he was absent from a list of Hollywood’s handsome men. Another shocking factor was that the selection of the sexiest men involved an audience poll. However, fans never got a chance to vote for one of their favorite celebrities to win the title.
When the matter was put to discussion on a Reddit thread, fans were furious. Some fans bashed the magazine for not involving Cavill. However, others brushed aside the matter saying they didn’t need People magazine telling them that Cavill was the sexiest. Henry Cavill Showed Immense Dedication To Get In Shape For Man of Steel
According to Looper, Henry Cavill enrolled in a gym, known to train professional athletes and military personnel, to get in shape. It also happened to be the place where the cast of Zack Snyder’s 300 got ripped for the film. It was an old gym with no television, mirrors, or high-end machines. Cavill trained for two and a half hours daily. He shared:
I’m training two and a half hours a day, pushing my body beyond limits – its normal limits. It’s not just a physical thing but a psychological thing as well.
Cavill also opened up about the permanent changes that the intense training brought upon his body (via IMDb). The biggest change he experienced was the reduction in his waist size. His shoulders bulked up significantly so that he couldn’t fit in his own clothes. The Mission: Impossible – Fallout actor felt the changes to his body as it grew harder and leaner.
