Sean Combs better known as Puff Diddy appeared in a Manhattan courtroom recently, where a judge announced that his s*x-trafficking trial is set to begin in May. And although almost all of Hollywood has turned their backs on him, his mother, Janice Combs, and his seven children one of whom is a toddler are choosing to stay beside him.
A crowd that was gathered outside the courthouse thus voiced their discontent, resulting in harsh reactions aimed at the family as they entered the courthouse.
Janice Combs Faces Backlash for Supporting P Diddy
P Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, has been relentlessly supporting her son, emphasizing that no one is perfect and expressing her belief in his innocence through all his legal troubles.
In addition to releasing a statement earlier this week, she was recently spotted at the Manhattan courthouse to stand by him once again. As she entered the courtroom, however, she faced a hostile crowd shouting insults at P Diddy, with one individual even shouting “Diddy is a predator” (via Fox News). Despite the barrage of negativity, Janice Combs chose to remain silent, refraining from engaging with the crowd or answering any questions.
In her statement, she wrote (via Us Weekly),
It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. I am not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not, He has made mistakes in his past, as we all have. My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise.
Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed, This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt.
Alongside his criminal charges, P Diddy finds himself named in multiple lawsuits, with the possibility of up to 120 more as attorney Tony Buzbee suggests more accusers may come forward. Janice Combs also states that some of these claims are simply attempts at a “quick payday,” especially after her son’s quick settlement of the initial lawsuit.

Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, Christian Combs, Chance Combs, and twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs were seen entering the courthouse. Combs’s family was seated in the second row of the gallery.
Last week, D’Lila and Jessie, the twins also paid him a visit at the Metropolitan Detention Center. Additionally, Combs’s four children with the late Kim Porter, Quincy, Christian, and the twins recently released a statement sharing their pain over the swirling rumors about their father and mother, calling the speculation hurtful and disrespectful. Stating (via Instagram),
We have seen so many hurtful and false rumours circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out. Please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend. Nor do they have her best interests at heart.We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives.
