Following the events of The Batman, the series delves into the underworld of Gotham City and how Oswald Cobb aka the Penguin rises to power. The Penguin is a series about the power struggle for an empty throne in a city that has already been destabilized.
The iconic show received critical fame as the ratings were even higher than House of the Dragon! A fan took to their Reddit account to talk about a potential theory that Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone will eventually become Poison Ivy in the future!
As per the fan, they had four reasons as to why Sofia Falcone would go on to become Poison Ivy. The first reason begins with how Falcone talked to her therapist Julian. The speech delved into Sofia Falcone’s psyche as she talked about how she had been manipulated and lied to her entire life by men.
The second reason is that the drug Bliss tends to have neurological effects on people. Although there are theories that this Bliss will soon be turned into the infamous Fear Toxin, it could seem that Bliss is something that Poison Ivy would use to control people.
A hidden detail that the fan seemed to notice is that in episode 3, Cristin Milioti wears a green floral dress. According to the user, the dress gave very Poison Ivy vibes and fourth, Sofia Falcone’s safe space is the Green House. Gee, we wonder who else loves plants?

However, in an interview (via MovieWeb), Matt Reeves talked about how The Batman was a film that was grounded in reality. According to the director, he wanted Gotham to feel like a part of the current world. Fortunately, that same rule applies to these iconic villains from the DC Comics.
What was important to me was to find a way to take these pop icons, these mythical characters that everybody knows, and translate it so that Gotham feels like a place in our world. We might push to the edge of the fantastical but we would never go into full fantastical.
He continued,
It’s meant to feel quite grounded. It doesn’t mean that you won’t see characters that people love. That’s exactly what we want to do.
Having said that, the theory of Sofia Falcone becoming Poison Ivy in The Penguin makes quite a lot of sense. Cristin Milioti’s character has the backstory, the emotions, the technology, and, a love for plants that makes her just suspicious enough to be the next Poison Ivy.
