Kirk Herbstreit announced Thursday on “The Pat McAfee Show” that PGA Tour golfer Scottie Scheffler will be ESPN’s “College GameDay” celebrity picker on Saturday from Austin, Texas, ahead of the No. 1 Longhorns’ game with No. 5 Georgia.
Scheffler played golf at Texas before turning pro in 2018.
The 28-year-old Dallas native is currently No. 1 on the Official World Golf Rankings and has 13 PGA Tour wins, including the 2022 and 2024 Masters.
Host Rece Davis is at the helm for his 10th season, joined at the desk this week by analysts Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, McAfee and Nick Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the cast.
Lee Corso has missed the last two weeks of the show. It is unknown if he will be in Austin. However, both Herbstreit and McAfee hinted that the former coach may be back.
