No Shoujo Anime Would Beat “One of the best confessions in anime” and My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 Did that in Only One Season

The season finale of My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 has left fans unsatisfied and craving more. My Love Story has one of the best takes on a slow-burn romance between a high school boy and a college girl. Additionally, the absence of unnecessary drama and filler characters has contributed to the anime’s reputation as one of the top rom-coms, with only 13 episodes.

Fans have been asking for another season after the wholesome and fascinating ending of the show. Although there’s no official confirmation of Season 2, fans remain hopeful for a prequel, even with the manga’s extended hiatus. Unlike many iconic shoujo anime, My Love Story strikes a perfect balance of romance and comedy, delivering a standout confession scene in the season finale that many popular titles have failed to achieve.

My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 Surpasses Others with Its Unforgettable Confession Scene

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is an anime adaptation of a manga series written and illustrated by Mashiro. Although My Love Story incorporates fantasy elements with characters engaged in FOS, the focus remains primarily on real-world drama.

The anime follows the story of Akane Kinoshita, a female college student, who faces the absolute worst situation when she learns about her boyfriend’s affair and decides to break up with him. Luckily, she soon encounters Yamada, an emotionless yet handsome pro-gamer who’s a part of her “Chocolate Rabbit” guild in the online game Forest of Savior (FOS).

Yamada is a man of few words and isn’t particularly moved by Akane’s sob story at first. However, the bond only grows as we move forward with the story, and fans discover more about the characters’ tragic backstory. Throughout the series, we see Akane and Yamada struggling to overcome their pasts and learn to love again.

Madhouse has provided plenty of iconic tiles such as One-Punch Man Season One, Hunter x Hunter, and many more. Considering that My Love Story with Yamada-kun has plenty of vibrancy in its environments and characters, it makes sense why the studio chose to bring the manga to the screen.

The anime delivered a delightful and smooth journey that captivated countless fans with its blend of heartwarming moments, humor, and adorable characters. Season 1 ends with Yamada and Akane officially ending up together as a couple.

By the end, Yamada and Akana’s love story seems very natural and effortless, captivating several fans; with the famous confession scene remaining dear to many fans’ hearts. The finale helped the anime to quickly itself as a comfort anime and one of the best romantic comedy series.
