After the controversy of P. Diddy, a new allegation of abuse against famed singer R. Kelly has come to the surface. In 2021, he was convicted of multiple charges involving child s*xual abuse, leaving him with a 30-year prison sentence.
Now, his daughter Buku Abi, real name Joann Kelly, accused him of molesting her when she was a child. She has previously revealed being totally estranged from him, and the young singer does not want to be associated with him anymore.

In the wake of P. Diddy’s multiple allegations of s*x trafficking and racketeering, many victims of abuse have started to come forward. His issue has become an instrumental catalyst for women who have suffered at the hands of abusers. Joann Kelly is allegedly one of those.
The recent report on R. Kelly’s controversy involving his eldest daughter was revealed via the two-part TVEI Network documentary R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey. She alleged her father abused her when she was 8, causing her so much mental trauma that she attempted to take her own life multiple times.
A statement from his ex-wife Drea Kelly seemingly suggests this behavior after she claimed that she was also abused by the disgraced R&B artist. While appearing on the documentary Surviving R. Kelly, she revealed giving birth to her third child under stressful circumstances.
This pertained to the singer’s numerous abuse cases as well as the physical and emotional violence she allegedly suffered at home which almost put her son’s life at risk. “I was under so much stress that when I went to the OBGYN they couldn’t find his heartbeat,” she shared via Heavy.com. The doctors had to induce labor as soon as she got to the emergency room to make sure the baby survived.
Thankfully, she was able to get through the labor and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Drea said that her children have no relationship with Kelly and they also rarely talk about their father in public.
Buku Abi’s recent claims about her dad brought the convicted singer’s controversies to the surface again, shedding more light on his tumultuous family relationship and previous cases.
Drea Kelly Recalls Alleged Abuse From Ex-Husband R. Kelly
In another post via The Root, Drea Kelly claimed that she endured so much from her husband before she eventually realized it was time to leave. Growing up in a household where she witnessed abuse, she found it difficult to discern the good and the bad traits.
She revealed that her final straw was when her ex-husband allegedly slapped her while she was sitting in the toilet and the force pushed her towards the bathtub.
Before this, she didn’t know the difference between control and concern because “you have this man controlling the finances… paying all the bills so you don’t have to work.” She later reflected that all her life, she was taught that the good guy and the bad guy are the same.
