Top-25 recruit Eric Reibe on joining UConn: ‘I’m happy to be a (bleeping) Husky’

If you knew nothing else about Eric Reibe, and only watched the ten-second clip from his commitment announcement that’s floating around the internet, you’d know that he’s going to fit right in at UConn.

Reibe, a seven-foot, 215-pound big man ranked as the second-best center in the Class of 2025, announced his commitment to the Huskies on Wednesday in a live stream on 247Sports.com.

He lauded UConn’s “special culture” and offensive playing style, saying that it fits his game well. He offered reverence for the program’s back-to-back titles,

And then he dropped a line that no doubt had UConn fans staring at their phones like that Michael Jordan meme from ‘The Last Dance.’

“I just can’t wait to be on campus, and play in front of the best fans in the country. And I’ll bring everything I have, all my energy I have, and I’m happy to be a (bleeping) Husky.”

You can find the clip here.

Reibe is originally from Germany, moved to Switzerland when he was eight years old, and moved back to Germany before heading to the U.S. to focus on basketball at age 16. He played in high school at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, and is ranked as the 23rd-best player in the Class of 2025 by ESPN.

He chose UConn over Creighton, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina.
