Sebastian Stan has recently gathered all the buzz with his Donald Trump biopic film, The Apprentice. The film was praised by critics who especially applauded the actor’s performance.
In an interview, while discussing his filmography, Stan stumbled on his past stint in the iconic TV show Gossip Girl. The Thunderbolts* actor spoke about his time on The CW set and also gave his ‘honest’ opinion about the experience. However, his confession might be influenced due to his past entanglement with a famous co-star from the TV series.
The hit appearance before Marvel’s Winter Soldier
Most fans might not know but Sebastian Stan was once a recurring character on one of the most popular TV shows ever. Years before he collaborated with Marvel, the actor played Carter Baizen in Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2010.
The CW show featured the actor as the young, manipulative, and loaded playboy who vied for Serena van der Woodsen’s (played by Blake Lively) affections. Recently, The Martian actor appeared on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused and spoke about his past works.
While touching upon his previous work history, the host questioned him about his stint with the Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage show. The actor replied saying he had fond memories from his time on the set.
Fans of the show may recall that Blair Waldorf, aka Leighton Meester, was once publicly dating The Apprentice actor. Stan’s somewhat hesitant and abashed response about the time might have to do something with his off-screen romance with one of the lead actresses.
All about the off-screen chemistry between Carter and Blair
The Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor met his former partner on the set of the show and they fell in love. The pair began dating in 2008 and Stan wasn’t shy of talking about his then-girlfriend.
He once highly praised Meester to the reporters (via PEOPLE), calling her not only talented but also the most hilarious person he knew. Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t last long as they separated ways in 2010.
However, the Red Doors lead has spoken greatly about the actress, even alluding that she was his first serious relationship. He spoke to Variety in September 2024, reflecting about his time on The CW show.
Though he didn’t directly name his ex-girlfriend fans speculated that it might be about his former co-star since they publicly dated during his time on the show. His recent reaction to being asked about the show might point towards his flusterment due to his past with Meester.
