Many details about the singer’s final moments have come out. Guests at the hotel in Argentina reportedly mentioned that they heard loud screams and noise from Payne’s room while some mentioned that the staff was going in and out. A preliminary autopsy report mentioned that the cause of death was multiple injuries related to the fall.
Hotel Guests Recount The Moments Before Liam Payne’s Tragic Death
One Direction member Liam Payne reportedly fell to his death from the third floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires. The Casa Sur Hotel is located in the Palermo neighborhood of the city and two emergency calls were placed from there, which described a man trashing his room under the influence of alcohol and dr*gs (via BBC News).
While the call was reportedly placed by the chief receptionist of the hotel, many other guests at the Casa Sur reportedly heard violent screams and noise from Payne’s alleged hotel room shortly before his death. Some guests told multiple news outlets about the noise and that they did not think anything of it until they saw sirens outside.
According to People, one guest reportedly heard the commotion, and another apparently heard noises from the room. The guest claimed,
I thought it was construction. I thought they were working on the room…I heard a really loud, violent scream.
The patron then said that they heard the hotel staff going up and down towards the room before hearing one more scream after the noise started back again.
Autopsy Reports Confirm The Multiple Injuries That Caused Liam Payne’s Death
Liam Payne was confirmed to be dead after his fall from his hotel room balcony at Casa Sur. A preliminary autopsy revealed that he reportedly died of multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding caused by the fall (via The Guardian). Police had also reportedly claimed that there were signs of alcohol and dr*g consumption in his room.
The Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti gave out a statement regarding Liam Payne’s death and the events after emergency services found him (via E! News),
Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.
Crescenti also claimed that the team who reached the location could not do anything to resuscitate Payne as he was already dead when they arrived. Authorities reportedly told AP News that there was no third party involved and he was alone in the room.
