Anyone with ties to P Diddy has been under scrutiny ever since the hip-hop mogul was arrested on disturbing charges of s*x trafficking and racketeering. The recent celebrity to receive the brunt of it was the Grammy-winning Nigerian star Burna Boy. Diddy executive produced Burna Boy’s album Twice as Tall which went on to win a Grammy.
Recently, a compromising photo of Diddy and Burna Boy circulated the internet, which was later proven to be fake. It was not the first time that Burna Boy was subject to ugly rumors in connection with Diddy. Last year, a fake Instagram story from Diddy caused the internet to speculate a feud between the two.
P Diddy’s Fake Instagram Post Sparked A Feud Rumor Between Him and Burna Boy
Burna Boy rose to global stardom with his Afrobeats style of music and even signed on to Atlantic Records under the Warner Music Group. In 2020, he dropped his fifth studio album Twice as Tall which was executive produced by his mother Bose Ogulu and Sean Diddy Combs. The album went on to win the Best Global Music Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
The album forged a friendly relationship between Diddy and Burna Boy. In 2021, Diddy posted a video of him meeting the Wonderful singer and shared that it was the first time he met the star despite winning the Grammy (via X). However, fans speculated a feud between the two stars after a screenshot of Diddy’s alleged Instagram story went viral.
According to Naija News, an Instagram page @its_onsite reposted the story allegedly from Diddy, which suggested that he had an issue with an artist in the then-Grammy Awards. Diddy’s alleged story read:
I helped you win your first and only Grammy award, which I did out of kindness, and somehow you thought you could win another without my help? Oh okay.
Many fans believed that Diddy’s comments were about Burna Boy and started spreading rumors of an alleged feud between them. However, Diddy quickly dismissed the rumors when he shared in the comments of the Instagram post, “This is fake.” Diddy cleared the air about any tension persisting between him and Burna Boy.
However, the dismissal of those rumors may not have done great favors to Burna Boy in the long run. He was recently caught up in the Diddy scandal after his arrest.
Wild Rumors & A Fake Photo Surface About Diddy And Burna Boy’s Relationship
A fake photo of the Nigerian rapper and the hip-hop mogul stuck together in a compromising position recently surfaced on social media pages. The image was debunked by Soap Central, who posted the images which were used to create the vile photo. However, Burna Boy is far from removing himself from the Diddy controversy.
According to the Nigerian outlet Daily Post, Speed Darlington, a fellow Nigerian musician, alleged foul play in Burna Boy’s 2020 album winning the Grammy. He slammed Burna Boy in a tweet, sharing:
Burna Boy took a picture with Diddy and he won a Grammy not long after. Burna don’t get offended, how much oil did Diddy use on you before they gave you that Grammy?
Darlington was referring to the feds finding 1000 bottles of baby oil in Diddy’s homes during the raids in March. Diddy has been currently charged with three counts. The charges include racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution.
