The RFEF sets the presidential elections for December 16 | Soccer | Sports

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has set the elections to elect president next Monday, December 16. The deputy vice president, María Ángeles García Chaves, has confirmed the date after the meeting of the Board of Directors held in the Ciudad del Fútbol this Friday. In addition, it has confirmed the election of the General Assembly for November 25, in which its 142 members will be elected.

It is expected that this will be the final call. This is what the RFEF has said through a statement on its website. “The RFEF thus begins the electoral process that it hopes to complete before the end of 2024,” the letter states.

This call comes one day after the Higher Sports Council (CSD) approves the modification of the electoral regulations of the RFEFa necessary requirement to be able to start the electoral process for the period 2024-2028. It was the RFEF itself that modified article 2 to extend the electoral year to 2025. In March, the organization had already approved its regulations to renew the Assembly and elect a president, but it was not carried out because the Sports Administrative Court (TAD ) claimed that he could only fill the position of president and not that of the entire entity.

The CSD approval came after On October 2, FIFA and UEFA demanded a president from the Federation within a maximum period of three monthsthrough a democratic process and with institutional help from the CSD.
