CT man arrested after domestic violence incident that left visible injuries

A New Haven man is facing charges after a domestic violence incident that left visible injuries, according to police.

Thad Stanley, 35, was arrested on Friday and charged with third-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and first-degree strangulation and suffocation, according to Wallingford police.

The arrest stems from a domestic incident that occurred in Wallingford, on Sept. 20, 2024.

Upon police arriving at a residence for a domestic violence call last month, Stanley fled and could not be located, police said. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for further evaluation due to her “visible injuries.” A warrant was then drafted and signed for Stanley.

The Wallingford Community Impact Unit developed a plan to take Stanley into custody, and began conducting surveillance on Oct. 18, according to police. After several hours of surveillance and brief negotiation, Stanley agreed to exit the rear door and was taken into custody.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Wallingford Police Patrol Division.
