Amari Cooper’s first reception for Buffalo Bills goes for a touchdown

Amari Cooper practiced for the first time with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday. On Sunday, his first reception for the franchise went for a touchdown.

On Tuesday, the Bills obtained the former Alabama All-American and a sixth-round choice in the 2025 NFL Draft from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and a seventh-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen connected with Cooper for the first time on a second-and-10 pass for a 12-yard touchdown as the Bills took a 14-10 lead over the Tennessee Titans with 10:23 left in the third quarter at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

The touchdown reception was the 63rd of Cooper’s career. He had two among his 24 receptions in Cleveland’s first six games of the 2024 season.

Cooper also caught a touchdown pass against the Titans the previous time he was traded during a season.

The Oakland Raiders traded Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 22, 2018, for a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Because the Cowboys were on their bye week, Cooper didn’t debut for Dallas until Nov. 5, 2018, when he caught five passes for 58 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dak Prescott, in a 28-14 loss to Tennessee.
