If you had one word to describe the average Connecticut man, what would you pick?
According to a survey of 3,000 single women by DatingAdvice who were asked to sum up their perception of men from their states in just one word, Connecticut men were described as “aloof.”
“It can be frustrating to engage with someone who comes across as distant, uninterested, and indifferent, making it hard to feel a genuine connection,” according to Dating Advice.

Connecticut men were not the only state to have a lukewarm descriptor. Florida men were seen as “immature,” according to DatingAdvice, while Maryland men were described as “arrogant.” Of course this is just the opinions of this select group of women, so take it with a grain of salt.
Some states faired better, according to DatingAdvice. Alabama men were described as “respectful,” Minnesota men were called “loyal,” and South Carolina men were described as “compassionate.”

- Positive descriptors: Respectful, Hardworking, Reliable, Dependable, Charming, Ambitious, Loyal, Generous,  Kind, Gentle.
- Neutral or ambiguous descriptors: Laid-back, Cautious, Modest, Unpredictable, Traditional.
- Negative descriptors: Detached, Rude, Aloof,  Immature,  Lazy, Apathetic, Cold, Arrogant, Clingy, Insensitive,  Overbearing, Impatient, Stubborn.
“DatingAdvice’s survey also made some other interesting discoveries; nearly a fifth (19%) of women believed that men from certain states or regions are indeed different when it comes to dating and relationships,” said DatingAdvice. “And when it came to what trait women would want to change about men from their own state, the majority (30%) said ‘communication’ – it seems no matter where you’re from, getting men to open up is always going to be tricky!
“18% said they’d change – we imagine they mean improve – their men’s sense of humor, while 24% said they’d change men’s level of ambition, 17% their approach to relationships and 11% their emotional availability.”
