Death is not a recurring element in One Piece. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series has explicitly mentioned that he does not like to kill the major characters in the series as it makes the entire narrative dull and sad. However, there are still a few characters like Whitebeard and Pedro who have had to die because the story demanded it.
Fans believe that as the story has entered its final phase, there is one more character whose death is needed to bring One Piece to its conclusion. And this character is none other than Marshall D. Teach, one of the Emperors of the Sea and the captain of the Blackbeard Pirates. Blackbeard is one of the biggest antagonists in One Piece and he is also one of the most hated characters.
Thus, the perfect end to his and his crew’s story would be to kill him and close his chapter once and for all. But what would be the perfect way to kill a character as menacing as Blackbeard? While this is an intriguing question, a few One Piece fans believe that Blackbeard deserves to drown and die as it has never happened before in One Piece.
Why Blackbeard’s Death is Much Needed?
On the list of most hated One Piece characters, Blackbeard hails at the top and there are multiple reasons behind it. Blackbeard is the exact opposite of the protagonist of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy. He represents everything that Luffy stands against and this makes him look annoying to many One Piece fans.
Secondly, he is the reason behind the Ace’s death in One Piece. He was the one who defeated him and handed him over to the Marines. As Ace was a fan-favorite character, viewers started despising him for his actions. Also he stole Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit after killing him. This was incredibly frustrating as he stole the identity of one of the strongest characters in One Piece.
Also, he is going after everyone who is related to Luffy or was his ally. Be it Hancock, Garp, or Law, Blackbeard is chasing after every major character for his malevolent goal and this makes him the most character in One Piece. This is why fans expect him to die in the final battle to put an end to everything he stands for.
The Perfect Way For Blackbeard to Die
Recently, a Reddit post asked fans about the perfect way for Blackbeard to die in One Piece. Instantly all the Blackbeard haters gathered together and gave some intriguing ideas that Eiichiro Oda could use to kill Blackbeard. However, the best one was given by u/YeahImSadButOkay as he pointed out that Blackbeard should ideally die by drowning.
Drowning would be the perfect way for Blackbeard’s story to end because of two reasons. The first is that as of yet, fans have not seen any Devil Fruit user die by falling into the sea.

As the entire Blackbeard crew possesses dangerous Devil Fruits, it would make sense to end all of their chapters together by making them sink into the bottom of the One Piece world.
The second reason is the tenth Titanic Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, Aokiji. There is a big theory going around on the internet about how Aokiji would betray the Blackbeard Pirates and kill them all in the end. Aokiji is one of the few Devil Fruit users who could even survive on seawater, which would make him the perfect character to sink the Blackbeard Pirates in One Piece.
