A topless woman running, then lying down in southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway in Irvine was fatally struck by a car Saturday night, Oct. 19.
A witness told the California Highway Patrol that at 8:55 p.m. Saturday a shirtless woman wearing camouflage shorts attempted to run across southbound lanes, then back to the right shoulder just north of the Culver Boulevard exit.
Additional reports indicated she was running northbound in southbound lanes and walking in middle lanes and that she was lying in a lane.
At 9:01 p.m., the CHP was informed that a pedestrian was hit by a white Tesla in middle lanes.
Officers at the scene requested a SigAlert at 9:06 p.m. to shut down four of the six southbound lanes.
The Orange County coroner’s office was summoned to the scene at 9:18 p.m.
