Auburn’s Johni Broome named AP preseason first team All-American

The preseason accolades continue to pile up for Auburn men’s basketball and its experienced big man.

Johni Broome was named an AP preseason All-American on Monday, becoming the first Auburn player to do so since 1999. Broome was named a third team All-American following the 2023-2024 season after averaging 16.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds.

Joining him on the All-America first team is Alabama guard Mark Sears, North Carolina guard RJ Davis, Arizona guard Caleb Love, Duke forward Cooper Flagg and Kansas center Hunter Dickinson.

Broome had already earned preseason first-team All-SEC honors last week, now adding All-America honors to his list of preseason achievements.
