CT man arrested for allegedly going more than 120 mph on Route 2

A man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly going more than 120 mph on Route 2.

A trooper conducting traffic enforcement on Sunday spotted a driver in a Range Rover shortly before 7 p.m. on Route 2 in Bozrah going at what appeared to be be well higher than the speed limit, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said the trooper began to clock the Range Rover’s speed using the speedometer on their cruiser, at which point the driver was allegedly going more than 120 mph.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop and the driver complied. State police said he was identified as 22-year-old Louis Dieu of Norwich.

Dieu was arrested and taken to Troop K in Colchester where he was charged with reckless driving, according to state police. He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on Oct. 29.
