CT man on probation allegedly clocked at 120 mph on I-91

A Hartford man was arrested last week for allegedly driving 120 mph on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill last month.

Daquan Patterson-Greene, 28, of Hartford turned himself in last Friday on charges of reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to comply with passing on right rules, failure to drive in the proper lane, improper signaling and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said the charges stem from an incident on Sept. 12 on I-91 South in the area of Exit 24 around 8:20 p.m., according to the arrest warrant affidavit. A trooper conducting speed enforcement as part of the Fatal Accident Mitigation Initiative spotted a driver in a 2025 Acura Integra with New Jersey license plates going at what appeared to be very fast.

The trooper used a laser gun to reportedly clock the driver at 120 mph in a 65 mph zone, the warrant affidavit said. The trooper tried to pull the driver over, but he allegedly refused to stop and began weaving in and out of traffic using the shoulder of the highway, according to the warrant affidavit.

Troopers were unable to stop the motorist, but the license plate information from the vehicle came back as being leased to Patterson-Greene, the warrant affidavit. Troopers went to his home to speak with him, but he was not there.

State police left their contact information with someone at the home and later received a call from Patterson-Greene. According to the warrant affidavit, he “kept dodging the question” when asked why he would not stop for a trooper and said he would be contacting a lawyer.

According to the warrant affidavit, state police days later received a call from Patterson-Greene’s federal probation officer who said if a warrant for his arrest was signed then federal authorities would be pursuing their own charges, the warrant affidavit said.

Following his arrest, Patterson-Greene posted a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Nov. 5.
