The star stepped out for lunch in Beverly Hills yesterday, debuting a new autumnal look that happens to channel one of the biggest runway trends of the moment: balletcore.
This past Fashion Month, ballerina-inspired looks took over the catwalks at Ferragamo, Simone Rocha, Alaïa, and more. Think tulle tutus, leggings, and of course, ballet flats. Lopez embraced the latter accessory, wearing a pair of black satin laced-up flats, complete with an elegant pearl detail. The silhouette is one of the hottest shoes of the moment, and Lopez styled them as a ballerina would—with a sleek knit polo top, cigarette pants, and a Chanel bag.
The balletcore movement is less about literally looking like the Black Swan, and more so about embodying the understated elegance of a ballerina. Like Lopez did, you can partake in the look by choosing a key accessory, and keeping the rest of the ensemble pared-back. Plié skills are not required.
