Part of Route 99 was closed in Rocky Hill on Monday morning after a vehicle struck a utility pole overnight, sending one person to the hospital.
The crash was reported in the area of Hillside Avenue where crews had to replace the pole that was struck, according to Lt. Steve Morgan of the Rocky Hill Police Department.
The driver of the vehicle involved suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, Morgan said.
The closure of Route 99 affected the area between Grimes Road and West Street, according to Brian Stevens, deputy chief of the Rocky Hill Fire Department. Hillside Avenue was also closed in the eastbound direction leading to main street.
Stevens said the closure was expected to possibly affect bus routes.
It was not immediately clear when the roads would reopen.
