ZZ Top to play Mobile, 2 other Alabama cities in spring 2025

ZZ Top will perform at the Mobile Saenger Theatre in March, joining a growing spring lineup at the historic venue.

Other early 2025 shows at the Saenger include celebrity chef Alton Brown, bluesman Joe Bonamassa and comedians from the “Kill Tony” podcast.

The March 6 ZZ Top show was announced Monday by the Oak View Group, which operates the Saenger, the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center and the Mobile Civic Center. According to zztop.com, it’ll follow a March 5 performance at the Dothan Civic Center. The band also has a March 23 show at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre on the books.

General public ticket sales for the Mobile show begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, with prices starting at $45.50 plus fees. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster outlets including the Saenger box office and Ticketmaster.

The “little ol’ band from Texas has a few Alabama connections. Its song “Tush” was written at a soundcheck in Florence. Guitarist Billy Gibbons is married to a Madison native, Gilligan Stillwater. And after ZZ Top announced the death of bassist Dusty Hill at the end of July 2021, the next show the band played was in Tuscaloosa.

Other winter/spring shows at the Saenger include:

  • Drew & Ellie Holcomb’s “Memory Bank Tour,” Feb. 5, $25.50 and up.
  • Celebrity chef Alton Brown’s “Last Bite” tour, March 5, $35.50 and up.
  • Comedian Ali Siddiq’s “In the Shadows” tour, March 14, $26 and up.
  • Joe Bonamassa, March 16, $49 and up.
  • Keb’ Mo’ & Shawn Colvin with special guest Paul Kelly, $44.50 and up.
  • “Killers of Kill Tony” featuring Kam Patterson, Ari Matti, Casey Rocket and David Lucas of the “Kill Tony” podcast, $34.75 and up.

The venue also has recently announced Christmas-season shows by Texas singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen (Dec. 7) and Mobile-area acoustic group Roman Street & Friends (Dec. 8). The venue’s full lineup and ticket info can be found at www.mobilecivicctr.com.
