How To Kill Lying Figures

In Silent Hill 2 Remake, the Lying Figure is one of the most common enemies players will face. These creepy creatures are seen throughout the game, starting right from the beginning and continuing until the end. You’ll often spot these enemies lying on the ground, ready to attack when you’re not expecting it.

Knowing how to fight these guys is important for survival. While they aren’t the strongest enemies in the game, they can still cause trouble if you’re not careful, especially with their toxic attacks. In this guide, we’ll go over some tips to help you take them down effectively.

How to Kill Lying Figures in Silent Hill 2 Remake

How To Kill Lying Figures
You’ll encounter the Lying Figures pretty much everywhere in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

When dealing with a single Lying Figure in Silent Hill 2 Remake, the best way to go about it is by using melee attacks. The key is to not get too greedy with your hits. If you strike once or twice, then quickly dodge to the side, you’ll avoid most of the damage they try to dish out.

After a successful dodge, jump back into the fight and land more blows. But if you get too eager and keep attacking, the enemy might hit you back, which can be a problem.

If you find yourself surrounded by multiple Lying Figures, or if you’re in a cramped space, switching to the handgun is a good idea. While they aren’t tough enough to waste strong ammo on, the pistol is still pretty good for when you can’t dodge well. It gives you some space and control over the situation.

When a Lying Figure is moving on the ground, it’s much faster but also more vulnerable. If you can land a hit while it’s in this state, you’ll stun it for a short time and leave it open for more attacks. Timing your hits during these moments is important for some quick kills.

Tip

Always remember that your attacks after dodging are stronger than normal attacks.

One of the best weapons against these monsters is the Steel Pipe. While you start with a Wooden Plank, the Steel Pipe is a better choice once you get it. It’s a reliable melee weapon that gets the job done. Whenever you dodge successfully, counterattack to deal even more damage.

Always be careful not to get caught by them.

Lying Figures have a few moves that you need to watch out for. One of their main attacks is vomiting out a stream of toxic liquid, which can hurt you if you stand in front of them.

They also perform a headbutt, where they lean back before launching forward to hit you. Lastly, there’s a body-check move where they will slightly shake before jumping at you. If you don’t dodge, they’ll pin you to the ground, which can lead to more damage.

In the Blue Creek Apartments, you’ll encounter a new version of the Lying Figure. This version has red skin and pieces of iron sticking out of its body. It fights the same as the regular variant, but the big difference is that it spits out a cloud of acid when it dies. If you don’t move away after killing it, you’ll get hurt by the acid.

Lying Figures are found in several places across the Silent Hill 2 Remake. You’ll see them in East South Vale, Wood Side Apartments, Blue Creek Apartments, West South Vale, Silent Hill Historical Society, Toluca Prison, Labyrinth, and the Nightmare Hotel.

Each location offers different challenges, but the aforementioned tactics remain the same. With enough practice, you’ll likely get better at dodging their attacks and finding the right moments to strike.
