On Assignment at Forces of Fashion New York with Laurel Woloszyn and Nazgol Fearnow

NF: My dress and jacket were Isabel Marant, and the boots, belt, and necklace were Chloé—and I carried a Chloé Aby lock bag (which I also brought with me to Forces of Fashion in 2019).

Did you meet any of the Vogue team?

LW: I loved my conversations with the Runway team during the morning’s writing session, as well as with Virginia Smith. We were lucky enough to have our picture taken by Hunter Abrams, too!

NF: We joined Write the Review, which was led by Nicole Phelps and other amazing Vogue Runway team members, and attended Show and Tell with Willow Lindley, Tabitha Simmons, and Virginia Smith. I also had the opportunity to speak with Anna Wintour for a few minutes, which was a highlight.

What about Vogue Club members?

LW: It’s always a highlight to see other Club members at events. We saw a few familiar faces, and made many new friends throughout the day. Two highlights: Dawn, whose consulting firm works with indigenous people—she was also wearing head-to-toe indigenous brands. It was also fabulous to see Timothy again (and congrats to him for winning the workshop with his Prada Spring 2025 review)!

NF: The events are always so impactful; everyone bonds—a testament to how fashion brings people together.

What were standout moments from the day?

LW: Nicki Minaj was amazing—she spoke from the heart and was dropping truth bombs and life lessons left and right. She was so much fun, and I found myself feeling emotional more than once during her panel: always the mark of a good discussion.

NF: I loved Victoria Beckham talking about how various mentors inspired and encouraged her—mentors such as Marc Jacobs, who told her: “As long as the product and the quality is good, no one can ever say it is rubbish.” I love this advice for someone trying to break into the fashion world: Be you, make a great product—whatever it is—and stick with it.

What was your biggest takeaway from the day?

LW: At one point, Simon Porte Jacquemus mentioned that in his early fashion years, he “felt so far away from fashion.” When he said that, I realized that what Forces of Fashion and Vogue Club are doing is making it easier for anyone to feel closer to fashion’s epicenter—and this was something that I think was truly felt during the entire event.
