Six of Sean Combs’ seven children release a statement for the first time to support their father: “Nothing will break the strength of our family” | People

Singer and businessman Sean Combs, 54, is in a Brooklyn jail awaiting trial accused of sex trafficking, illicit association and transportation for prostitution. The musician has been accused by around 150 people – including several minors – of abuse, sexual harassment and rape, and faces penalties that could lead him to spend the rest of his life in prison. At this point and after almost a year of very explicit complaints, some of them supported with images (such as the CNN video in which you can see how he mercilessly chases and beats his then-girlfriend, Cassie, while she tries to flee a hotel), there are few defenders left for the winner of three Grammy Awards. Little more than his children. And they have now come forward to speak on behalf of their father for the first time.

Combs has seven children between the ages of 33 and 1, born from different relationships with four women. Some of them went to the New York court on October 10 to see their father on the day the trial date was set (which, initially, will take place on May 5, 2025). Then present were Justin Dior, 30, Christian (called King), 26, and twins Jessie and D’Lila, 17. Now they have been joined by Quincy Taylor, the oldest, 33, and Chance Combs, 18, to sign a public letter of support for their father, the first one they launch jointly. The only one left out, for obvious reasons, is Love Sean Combs, still a 20-month-old baby, born in December 2022.

In the statement, which they have sent to some media and which they have also posted on their social media accounts, they affirm that this past month has been “devastating” for their family. “Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories and false narratives that have entered an absurd spiral on social networks,” they say. “We stick together, supporting you every step of the way,” they tell their father. “We hold fast to the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family.” In capital letters, they end with “We miss you and love you, Dad.”

Of Combs’ seven children, four of them were the result of his relationship with the model Kim Porter, who died in November 2018, and three others from different relationships of the rapper and producer. Quincy, the oldest of the seven, was the biological son of Porter and a singer, but Combs ended up adopting him. Justin, the second and three years younger, is the result of Combs’ relationship with stylist Misa Hylton. Christian, the third (26 years old), is Porter and Combs’ first biological child. The fourth, Chance Combs, is the first girl, and the only one the artist had with businesswoman Sarah Chapman, and she came of age last July. Five months after her, in December 2006, the fifth and sixth, twins D’Lila and Jessie, were born, the youngest of the union between Combs and Kim Porter. The seventh, Love Sean Combs, is the daughter of Combs and cybersecurity expert and model Dana Tran and was born a little less than two years ago.

So far, the young people (all of legal age, except for the twins, who are two months away from turning 18) They had only spoken in favor of Kim Porterbut they had not spoken regarding their father. On September 24, the four children of the model, who died of pneumonia at the age of 47, spoke about the “many false and harmful rumors about the relationship” between Porter and Combs, and Porter’s death: “ We feel the need to confront them.” At the time, there was speculation that a 60-page book on Amazon was supposedly unpublished memoirs by Porter, which included information about sexual encounters and abuse by Combs. “Claims that our mother wrote a book are simply false. He didn’t do it. And anyone who claims to have a manuscript is misrepresenting,” They assured in a statement Quincy, Christian, Jessie and D’Lila Combs.

“Our lives were destroyed when we lost our mother,” they said then. “She was our world. And nothing has been the same since he passed away. “While it has been incredibly difficult to accept that she was taken from us so soon, the cause of her death was made clear a long time ago.” The reason is that when Porter died, some tabloid media speculated about possible substance abuse, something that was quickly cleared up and dismissed. “Our mother should be remembered as the beautiful, strong, good and loving woman she was. “His memory should not be tarnished by horrible conspiracy theories.” On that occasion, they only mentioned the name of the disgraced music mogul, whom they have come out to defend today.
