The Penguin is the only thing that millions of people are currently obsessed with as Colin Farrell takes the character to newer heights of success. Well, the show just overdid itself by showcasing an iconic Batman reference.
With the series releasing episodes weekly, the world waits for each episode desperately and they are not left disappointed in return. However, the recently released 5th episode of The Penguin simply left the fans astounded.
The 5th Episode of The Penguin was Simply Awesome

So… are Batman and Penguin neighbors? All jokes aside, episode 5 of The Penguin (titled Homecoming) saw Oz Cobb struggling to survive against all odds.
Oz and Vic Aguilar are left with no choice but to take shelter on the East side of Gotham City. During their journey, Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb and Aguilar stumble upon a generator in one of the metro tunnels.
There are symbols of Wayne Enterprises on the wall. Well, it seems that someone had been very busy in the abandoned tunnels. Perhaps this unknown vigilante was saving Gotham City from criminals?
Enough with the suspense. The easter egg was an obvious reference to Robert Pattinson as the Batman. The scene is so brilliant that fans are left in awe of the similarities between Batman and the Penguin.
And although the world loved the easter egg in the iconic show, could it be entirely possible that it wasn’t just a simple easter egg? Maybe the generator was a setup that could eventually bring in Robert Pattinson’s Batman to meet the Penguin in the iconic Max show!
The Train to the Batcave!
It wouldn’t be considered ideal if Oz Cobb got on a trolley and accidentally stumbled on the Batcave. However, this easter egg in episode 5 could indeed point to the bigger picture.
Although it cannot be said with certainty, Robert Pattinson’s Batman could very well have a simple cameo in the iconic HBO show in the 3 remaining episodes to the series finale.
Even if Pattinson is busy with some other projects, it could be possible that a silhouette of the caped crusader will make an appearance. The rule of Chekhov’s gun might come in handy and the generator that Oz Cobb saw in episode 5 of The Penguin might be one of the most important scenes of the plot.
However, until the episodes are released, this remains a mere theory (but an interesting one at that). With 5 episodes released, the HBO show currently stands at a rating of 8.8/10 on IMDB and a whopping 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The 6th episode of The Penguin is slated for a release date of 27 October and will be available to stream on Max in the U.S.
