Blade Officially Removed from 2025 Release Schedule!
Marvel Studios has finally announced that they have decided to pull Mahershala Ali’s Blade from its November 7, 2025 release date, opting instead to roll out 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands as per Deadline.
Kevin Feige has insisted time and again that they won’t move forward until they’ve nailed down an exceptional script, all in the pursuit of creating the ultimate Blade movie.
Originally announced back at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the reboot of the beloved Wesley Snipes film was set to star the two-time Oscar winner Ali. However, the project has been anything but smooth sailing from that point on, with a parade of directors and writers passing through without settling in.

Mahershala Ali would be an excellent fit for this role. His soothing, measured voice conveys depth and wisdom, making him perfect for the character’s more introspective moments.
Plus, when it’s time to unleash his power, Ali can bring the intensity needed to make the Martian Manhunter truly tough, given he has proved his acting chops multiple times. Not to mention, his age aligns well with the character’s backstory. Fans are excited to see him in his avatar if this ever ends up working out!
