CT man arrested after police allegedly find him with 110 heroin bags

A man was arrested in Waterbury on Tuesday after police found him with more than 100 bags of heroin.

Keishawn Dancy, 26, of Waterbury was charged with one count of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police Department.

Bessette said the arrest came as the department’s Vice and Intelligence Division was conducting a narcotics investigation in the area of Bronson Street in the wake of “numerous recent complaints of drug activity in the neighborhood.” Police believe Dancy was “actively involved in the sale of narcotics,” Bessette said.

When he was arrested, police seized 110 bags of heroin and $260, according to Bessette.

Dancy was released on a promise to appear and is expected to be arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 5.

“The Waterbury Police Department remains committed to addressing drug activity within the community to ensure the safety and security of residents,” Bessette said in a statement.

Anyone with information about illegal drug or firearm activity is encouraged by police to contact the Vice and Intelligence Division at 203-574-6904. Anonymous tips can be left through the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 203-755-1234.
