U.S. Marshals apprehend fugitive wanted on weapons charges in Bristol

A fugitive wanted on multiple weapons charges in Enfield was taken into custody with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

Dennis Rodriguez, 30, was apprehended at a building on Benhan Street in Bristol where he is alleged to have been hiding since May 2024, according to Supervisor Deputy Matthew Duffy of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Rodriguez was wanted by the Enfield Police Department on charges of first-degree criminal attempt assault, criminal possession of a pistol, carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal use of a weapon, illegal discharge of a weapon, first-degree criminal trespass and breach of peace in connection with an incident in Enfield on May 5, Duffy said.

After attempts to locate Rodriguez were unsuccessful, Enfield police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, according to Duffy.

The investigation led to the Bristol location where he was arrested by U.S. Marshals with the assistance of the Bristol Police Department and the Connecticut State Police SWAT team. According to Duffy, a fully loaded Glock handgun was allegedly recovered at the scene.

Following his arrest, Rodriguez was transported to the Enfield Police Department.
