From the 48h Open House to the Regia Market: free plans for this weekend | News from Catalonia

A building open house weekend has been held in Barcelona for 15 years, but there are so many spaces to visit that it is impossible to repeat. For this reason, EL PAÍS selects the best houses or monuments that can be explored in the 48h Open House. In addition, this Saturday the Palau Sant Jordi hosts the mega edition of the Locobongo musical bingo and the Casino de la Floresta celebrates the Regia Market Fest, a 100% female music, food and crafts festival. This, without forgetting the concert of the Catalan trio Éxtasis in room 2 of Razzmatazz.

The 48h Open House is back

From Vilassar de Dalt to Sitges and passing through the three large Catalan cities; This weekend you can visit more than 200 buildings that we usually admire from the outside: some iconic ones such as the Ciutadella Fountain, the Venetian Towers or the Arc de Triomf; or spectacular houses like l’Habitatge Oasi de L’Hospitalet (C/ Santa Eulàlia, 42)the Finca Sansalvador in Coll (Passeig de la Mare de Déu del Coll, 79) or the ‘Passivhaus’ in Poblenou (Passatge del General Bassols, 19). Although all spaces are free to enter, some require prior reservation, such as the TMB garages (with a guided tour), the Sant Pau modernist complex or the Torre de les Aigües del Tibidabo. We recommend consulting the detailed map of this edition because each space has its own opening hours.

Locobongo XXL: ‘Mega’ Musical Bingo at the Palau Sant Jordi

It’s a bingo, a raffle and a Grand Prix style contest. But not only that. Anyone who has ever gone to La Paloma (their usual space in Barcelona) will know this: the presenter (Xenon) and her hostesses turn this show into such a fun party that it has not stopped growing in recent years. So much so that this Saturday afternoon it organizes its XXL version at the Palau Sant Jordi: actresses Yolanda Ramos and Loles León will join the showwhere the balls and awards will be interspersed with performances by Gloria Trevi, Chanel, Nebulossa, The Tyets, Chenoa and even the duo Sonia and Selena, who will perform together more than two decades later. A collective party with more than 16,000 people, perfect for having fun with friends this Saturday afternoon (at 5 p.m.).

Regia Market Fest, the women’s art festival at the Casino de la Floresta

Two years ago, a couple of DJs from Barcelona created the Regia project; a label that programs parties with a 100% female line-up. After passing through venues such as City Hall, Nitsa or La Terrrazza, they have now created their first daytime, outdoor event that will combine live music with a food market and other artisan products. This is the Regia Market Fest that this Saturday (from 11am to 11pm) moves to the Casino de la Floresta. On stage you can enjoy a live performance by the Catalan Nyah or the Galician with Brazilian roots Lua de Santana who, among other things, has participated in Nathy Peluso’s latest album with her song ‘Menina’. After them (starting at 5 p.m.), the live shows will give way to the decks with R&B or funk sessions by other women such as Paula GM or Brieela. All while one can try the vegetarian food at Comiendo Lechuga, the pizzas at Pizza Social Club or the drinks at Req Matcha (projects also led by women).

Discover the Ecstasy trio at Razzmatazz

Those who love to discover new music through concerts, this weekend you can go enjoy Calle Almogàvers with Éxtasis: three childhood friends who decided to professionalize their musical project in 2021. Spanish and danceable pop rock (with some rumba) that is reflected in songs like “I saw you dance” or “Ojitos Marrones”. Topics that tomorrow, at 8pm, will surely make everyone who goes to Room 2 of Razzmatazz jump.
