Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze didn’t make the trip with the team to Lexington for the Kentucky game due to illness, according to a report by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Freeze is believed to be suffering from food poisoning, according to Thamel’s report. He was expected to travel to Lexington in time for Saturday night’s game at Kentucky.
During an appearance on SEC Nation on The SEC Network Saturday morning, Thamel said Freeze had experienced a “pretty tough 24-hour period,” but was expected to coach on Saturday night.
Kickoff for Auburn-Kentucky is set for 6:45 p.m. at Kroger Field in Lexington. The game will be televised live by SEC Network.
