Auburn coach Hugh Freeze gets IV prior to Kentucky game for nausea, dehydration

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze is on the sideline Saturday night for the game at Kentucky, but it has been an adventure.

The SEC Network’s Ashley Stroehlen confirmed an earlier report Freeze didn’t travel with the team to Lexington.

He flew in early Saturday because he and his wife, Jill, were both sick, experiencing nausea and dehydration. Stroehlen reports Freeze received an IV prior to the game for what Freeze described as “weakness,” but he said he wasn’t going to miss Saturday’s game with his team being so close to a win.

During an appearance on SEC Nation on The SEC Network Saturday morning, Pete Thamel said Freeze had experienced a “pretty tough 24-hour period,” but was expected to coach on Saturday night.
