Metaphor: ReFantazio – How to Use Fae Sight

This is a quick guide on how to use Fae Sight to get a better feel of the landscape and to see if there are any looming threats in Metaphor: ReFantazio. The game developers could not help themselves but borrow notes from the Persona franchise, and establish a sense of familiarity for the player base.

The Fae Sight mechanic can be used from a safe distance and for the protagonist to gauge whether they are prepared to enter an area. This useful mechanic will allow players to identify whether the nearby enemies are easy to defeat depending on their color levels or not.

This Is How to Use Fae Sight Effectively and Efficiently

The Fae Sight can tell players if they are fit to take on certain foes in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Studio Zero decided to reflect on other great projects from the same publisher like Persona 5 and carried over certain gameplay mechanics and features.

In the Persona franchise, players have an ability called Third Eye which has similar functions to a massive UAV that can scan the nearby area to detect enemies. Meanwhile Metaphor: ReFantazio has Fae Sight with the same basic function.

Tip

Fae Sight will let players determine an enemy’s level with different color markers.

Each corresponding color will let the protagonist know if they can take on what is ahead.

RedThe highlighted enemy means it is a few levels higher than the player. The protagonist should reconsider their options before starting something they can’t finish.
YellowYellow means the enemy is on the same level or is a bit higher than the player. It may pose a moderate challenge to the player.
BlueEnemies with this color usually mean it is a level lower than the player. The protagonist is well-equipped to take on this foe easily.
WhiteEnemies highlighted with white mean the players have not seen or fought this specific enemy type. Players must tread carefully and avoid underestimating their enemies.

The Fae Sight mechanic is convenient for players exploring the Kingdom as they explore dungeons and other infested areas. Players can survey an area and determine if it is wise to start a fight to collect items and other worthwhile drops throughout their playthrough.

Newer Players Should Not Disregard the Use of Fae Sight in Metaphor: ReFantazio

A still from Metaphor: ReFantazio
The Fae Sight can help players prepare better in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Players can hold the left triggers of their controllers as they explore the vast lands of the Overworld. The Fae Sight can save the protagonist from a world of pain by not jumping into a fight they may not handle and the color indicators can keep them informed and on the side of right.

It’s applaudable that the game developers are reusing older game mechanics from neighboring franchises, and it is helping players throughout their playthrough. Atlus struck gold with Persona 5, and Studio Zero must have realized the Third Eye mechanic is a feature worth reusing for Metaphor: Refantazio and it worked significantly.

The Fae Sight ability can help players farm better by finding weaker enemies on a lower level. However, it is worth noting that players should be cautious whenever an enemy with a red marker or white is lurking around the area. Players should use this feature often to avoid getting sucked into situations they are ill-equipped to face.
