Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece made its debut in 1997 when it became one of the most renowned anime titles in the world. After all, the Shonen series has featured the most captivating story ever written, sewn beautifully together with careful world-building and a long list of three-dimensional characters. However, that has not stopped the series from featuring some of the best fights in the entire anime industry.
From the Marineford War to the raid at Onigashima, Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates’ grand adventure kept pushing the boundaries. However, there’s one battle that has kept the fans thinking about time and time again; it’s none other than the Battle at God Valley. The outrageous fight featured Monkey D. Garp and Gol D. Roger not only going against The Rocks Pirates but also defeating them.
However, even after so long, the fans keep wondering what transpired in the battle and how the strongest pirate crew in the world fell short against two men. The mystery surrounding the fight is immense, and Oda-Sensei once teased his fans on the biggest battle of his magnum opus.
Eiichiro Oda Has Still Kept the Battle at God Valley a Secret
In the long-running history of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus, fans of the series would know how the God Valley incident changed the course of the OP verse. Taking place 38 years before the present time in the West Blue, it featured the joint effort of Garp and Roger to put an end to the Rocks Pirates.
This fight is considered to be the most major event in the world of pirates; it was simultaneously followed by more major events. Despite the incident being so significant in the series, fans do not know much about it. To keep the fans thinking about the incident, Oda-Sensei teased about it in Chapter 1095, titled, Better Off Dead in This World.
The chapter showcased a flashback from 47 years ago in the Sorbet Kingdom, which featured the cruelty of the Celestial Dragons. Several years later, the nobles organized a triennial tournament at God Vally, which had a hidden purpose: to eradicate everyone present on the island and some troublesome slaves of theirs, including Bartholomew Kuma.
In the next chapter, that is, in 1096, the World Nobles began their hunting competition, where Rocks Pirates, Roger Pirates, Garp, and the Marines got involved. This led to the battle between the two factions, where Kuma took advantage and stole the two Devil Fruit prizes of the competition for his escape: the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, and the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi.
Soon chaos followed on the island, which led to a memorable incident that we know nothing about. The battle is so epic that it includes 3 of the 4 previous-generation Yonkos, that is, Kaidou, Big Mom, and Whitebeard. These heavyweights were later replaced by Luffy, Buggy, and the notorious Blackbeard.
Nevertheless, fans are immensely disappointed to this day, as Oda-Sensei has not shared another secret following the incident. Hence, when an insider shared a tweet on X, the community came forward to share their views.
One Piece Fans Want To Know About the God Valley Incident
With the series continuing for 27 years, Eiichiro Oda has refrained from giving another chapter that talks about the iconic incident in detail. Pew (@pewpiece), a reliable page on X that follows everything about the series, shared how it has been a year since fans got a glimpse of the greatest event that followed in the series.
As a result, fans have been immensely disappointed because they are yet to know what unfolded in the battle, with potentially three crew members betraying Rocks D. Xebec in the battle. They commented,
Just a sneak peak, imagine the full flashback

With the series showing no signs of stopping and being in its final arc gives high hope to its fans. The community wholeheartedly believes that the mangaka will unravel everything that went down on the island that changed the course of history in the OP verse.
