MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Grant man was arrested on charges stemming from a Grand Jury Indictment Monday night, according to authorities.
The Marshall County Investigations Division, patrol deputies and the Marshall County Drug Task Force stopped a car on Highway 431 near the Marshall/Madison county line.
Authorities identified the driver as Adam Wayne Atchley, 37, from Grant.
Atchley was arrested on charges stemming from a Grand Jury Indictment, including one count of first-degree human trafficking and one count of first-degree human trafficking a victim under the age of 16.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said Atchley had previously been arrested in August and charged with transmitting obscene material to a child and electronic solicitation of a child.
On August 7, Marshall County Investigators said they were contacted by a neighboring agency for a report of a sex crime involving a child in Marshall County.
Investigators with the Marshall County Criminal Investigation Division said on August 13, they searched a home and took electronic devices.
Atchley is currently being held in the Marshall County jail without bond pending an Aniah’s law hearing.
The U.S. Marshals and Gunerstivlle Police Department assisted in the arrest of Atchley.
