Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime. Its brilliantly written characters, dark background, and exciting plot make it different from other anime of the same genre. Demon Slayer anime had three seasons with a completed manga. It has delivered several great moments that will be always cherished by the fans.
The story of Demon Slayer follows the conflict between demons and humans. The demons are ruthless creatures who hunt humans at night, while the Demon Slayer Corps protect the humans from them. Several characters disgust the fans and in return are hated to their core. So, let us look at the five most hated characters in Demon Slayer that have always been the source of negativity.
5. The Hand Demon

The Hand Demon is one of the major villains in the initial stages of Demon Slayer, appearing during the Final Selection arc. It was a creature full of malice and enjoyed killing humans. The Hand Demon’s only source of joy was killing the people who came to pass the final selection for Demon Slayer Corps. He held pride in viciously killing his targets and explaining it to others. He had killed several would-be Demon Slayers, with 13 of them being the apprentices of Urokodaki Sakonji. So, when Tanjiro Kamado killed him, the fans enjoyed every moment of it.

4. Hantengu

Hantengu is a major antagonist in the Swordsmith Village arc. He is a demon who resides inside a husk and is scared of everything. He has four aspects of himself, leaving his shrivelled husk form. Hantengu can transform into two other forms when the other four aspects become one. One of the main reasons for him being on his most hated list is that he is a coward and chose to finish off the swordsmith to stop the weapon supply for the Demon Slayer Corps.
He is the Upper Moon Four and was personally chosen by Muzan. Hantengu avoids direct fights, which showcases him as a spineless creature.
3. Kaigaku

Kaigaku was the student of the former Thunder Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima, along with Zenitsu Agatsuma. He was an orphan who did petty crimes to survive. He was one of the orphans at Gyomei Himejima who was caught stealing money from the temple. After getting caught, he was expelled from there and encountered a demon, whom he lured into the temple to save himself. Kaigaku is a self-centered and egoistic person who holds too much pride.
After becoming a Demon Slayer, he encountered Upper Moon One, Kokushibe, and immediately surrendered and became a demon. Later, he became Upper-Rank Six and was killed by Zenitsu during the Infinity Castle arc. Kaigaku is one of the most hated characters in the anime who branded good and evil based on people who praised and despised him.
2. Doma

Doma is one of the Upper Moon and held Rank Two. Just like Kaigaku, Doma is also self-centered and cunning. He became a cult leader and founded the Eternal Paradise Faith. In his cult, he is praised and worshipped by his peers. People who worship him come to him with all their problems, and in turn, he advises them on what to do. But apart from advising, he chooses his victims from the crowd, whom he later kills and eats. Doma killed Inosuke Hashibira’s mother, Kotoha Hashibira. She found out Doma’s reason behind starting the cult and was eliminated by him.
1. Kibutsuji Muzan

Kibutsuji Muzan is the most hated character in Demon Slayer. He is the reason for an increase in the demon population. He is hailed as the Demon King and uses his blood to convert humans into demons. The more blood he gives, the more powerful the demon becomes. Unlike other demons, he cannot be killed by beheading him. Only sunlight can kill him. He is arrogant, and even the strongest demons tremble at his name.
Kibutsuji Muzan believes himself to be omnipotent. One of the greatest reasons for the fandom to hate him is killing Tanjiro Kamado’s family and turning his sister into a demon. He is evil incarnate and does not even have a single drop of sympathy.
