Right now, the fans’ attention is on comedian Dave Chappelle who famously walked away from a fifty million dollar offer from Comedy Central and hopped on a plane to South Africa. Now, fans are wondering if there was more to that $50 million thanks to an interview with Katt Williams. To top it all, Dave Chappelle’s reaction to P Diddy’s arrest has us wondering if the comedian is cooking something.

Back in 2003, Dave Chappelle was enjoying the heights of his career as a comedian when he signed a deal with Comedy Central for Chappelle’s Show. While the series was a hit and sold over 1.2 million DVDs within its first week, Chappelle ended up walking away from it all.

The third season was supposed to release in mid-2005 but the star of the show never returned. He walked off the set and took a flight out to South Africa where he would be free from the scrutiny and harassment of the media.

A bit later, Chappelle returned to tell his side of the story. In 2006, he appeared in an interview with Oprah Winfrey where he was asked why he walked away from a deal that would have made him $50 million richer.

To this, Chappelle replied, “I wasn’t walking away from the money. I was walking away from the circumstances.

He also added that celebrities who were on the verge of their career-ending would often take large amounts of money and then end up going crazy. He simply did not want that.

Now, though, with everything that has come out about Diddy, we wonder if there was more to the $50 million deal than was revealed. During Katt William’s appearance on Club Shay Shay, he shined a light on Chappelle walking away from the deal stating “People say that he lost $50 million – no, no, that’s not even close to what happened to this dude and until you understand what happened to the dude, you don’t understand what happened.”

He added that he had to turn down the same amount of money four times to protect his integrity as “P Diddy be wanting to party and you got to tell him no…I did.” With Diddy’s recent arrest, the stories of $50 million deals seem a lot more now, even Chappelle’s.

As Chappelle was walking out in West Hollywood, CA, he was surrounded by the paparazzi clicking pictures and throwing questions about him. During the short moment, someone from the crowd asked the comedian if it was “Too early to make jokes about Diddy.”

Now, of course, they were referencing Diddy’s recent scandal and arrest. Chappelle, who has always been against the dark side of the entertainment industry, reacted to the man’s comment and it was pure gold.

He laughed hysterically, almost maniacally, at the comment, and fans are convinced that he is cooking up something about it all. Check out the clip here.

A fan commented, “That laugh was purely, ‘Yall are gonna live this sh-t when my next special drops” and another wrote, “Dave in his head like o boy you just wait till his next special.”

Chappelle isn’t one to keep his thoughts to himself. On November 24, 2020, he opened up about Comedy Central and called the industry out for being a “Monster.” He posted an 18-minute-long video on his Instagram titled Unforgiven, with a caption that simply read, “This is why.”

Given Chappelle’s bold attitude and his reaction to Diddy’s arrest, it seems like fans should brace themselves for whatever he may be working on at the moment.
