THE Rangers board are remaining calm at the eye of the storm as pressure mounts over Philippe Clement’s future.
The Belgian’s job prospects are the centre of major speculation in the wake of the 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen in midweek which leaves them NINE points back on the Dons and Celtic.

That’s despite the fact the ex-Club Brugge boss only penned a new improved deal at the club this summer.
But there’s been no knee jerk action yet from club bosses, despite a run which isn’t much better than that presided over by Pedro Caixinha.
And now a source close to the Belgian’s camp, as quoted in the Daily Record, insists everything in the Rangers boardroom remains calm about the Belgian’s future.

The quote reads: “Pressure from outside – media and fans – is very high but, within the club, they are staying calm.”
He’s got another massive clash just round the corner, of course, with Motherwell lying in wait in the League Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
Defeat there would be unthinkable as Clement bids to retain the trophy he led the Ibrox side to last season.
The Ibrox men, of course, have other problems currently outwith results on the field.
They recently unveiled losses of £17.2m for the year just past, with the forecast likely to get worse before it gets better .
That’s considering the club were locked out of Ibrox and didn’t reach the Champions League this season.
They currently have no permanent chairman and no chief executive, fully FIVE months after James Bisgrove left for the Saudi Pro League.
