YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A portion of a $2.54 million grant to the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) will go toward building six new rental units in the Mahoning Valley.
The Glenwood Avenue Duplexes will receive $336,000 to build six new units for very low to moderate-income residents.
The rest of the grant money will go toward home repairs and down payment assistance with $1.5 million going toward repairing 150 units and $705,000 to help 30 homebuyers with down payment assistance of up to $18,000.
YNDC worked with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati’s Affordable Housing Program, Huntington National Bank, Premier Bank, the City of Youngstown and The Raymond John Wean Foundation to secure the grants.
The projects are expected to be completed in 2025.
