Fight at Warren's Peace Pub lands man in jail

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A ruckus at a local bar landed a man in jail and led to a large police presence.

Officers were called just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday to the Peace Pub on Parkman Road NW for a fight.

When officers arrived, a large group of people was in the parking lot and an “older male” was face down with blood pouring from his nose. Someone pointed to another man in the parking lot as the person who punched the man on the ground and when police tried to approach him, he ran away, according to the police report.

Officers chased the man through yards on Parkman Road until they threatened to use their stun gun on him and the man and stopped, the report stated.

The suspect, a 29-year-old man, told police that some guy told him he was going to kill him and that it didn’t “go well with him” so he punched him.

A witness at the bar said that the suspect had been a problem all night and that he had been thrown out of the bar twice before he started fighting with people in the parking lot, according to the police report.

The victim said he tried to help the owner get rid of him and that’s when he got punched.

Police said the victim likely suffered a broken nose but refused medical treatment.

The suspect was taken to jail and charged with assault.
