AN adored Glasgow cinema is reportedly reopening as a music venue and community hub.
The Lyceum Cinema, in Govan, was once a much-loved movie theatre but has been derelict for 18 years.
However the owner has reportedly revealed exciting plans to rejuvenate the B Listed.
It’s understood the stunning building will host concerts, weddings and functions.
The historic venue will also house a cafe-food hall and state-of-the-art cinema and a spacious auditorium, according to Glasgow World.
And punters won’t have to wait long as the venue is set to open next summer.
The Lyceum Cinema opened in December 1938 with a capacity of 2,600.
Elsewhere movie fans have been left gutted as Cineworld is set to close down a major Scottish branch today.
The cinema giant announced several locations will be closing down amid a bid to save cash.
And film lovers north of the border will have one less place to see the latest flicks.
Bosses decided to close down Cineworld at the Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead.
It is among five Cineworlds closing down this month.
The venue in Glasgow‘s east end closed its doors in October.
A post on the Cineworld Glasgow Parkhead Facebook page read: “After years of providing movie lovers with a place to feel more, we have made the difficult decision to close Cineworld Glasgow Parkhead.”
