These works are part of an upgrade to replace the airport’s equipment to help ensure “a smoother and more efficient experience” for passengers.
Prestwick Airport said that it will do its best to minimise disruption. However, passengers may experience some changes to the usual process.

To help ensure a smooth journey through security, travellers are advised to arrive slightly earlier than usual to account for any potential delays and follow the guidance from airport security staff and ensure their belongings are ready for screening.
Prestwick is also reminding travellers that items such as laptops, tablets, and other large electronics must also be removed from luggage for separate screening.
