Police are investigating after a fatal stabbing early Saturday morning in West Haven, officials said.
On Saturday, around 2:05 am, West Haven police dispatchers received multiple 911 calls about a stabbing that occurred at a bar in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers said they located a man with what appeared to be a stab wound to the front of his body.
It was reported to police on scene that a possible suspect left in a vehicle, northbound on Campbell Avenue. Police said they believe some type of altercation may have started inside the bar between the man and the suspect. West Haven Fire Rescue arrived on scene shortly after police and began life-saving efforts.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The West Haven Police Detective Division is currently investigating.
