The Royal Bank of Scotland took court action to recover the money, paperwork lodged with the accountant in bankruptcy shows.

Although it is understood there may be other creditors.

Records show, however, that Singh, a lag in HMP Shotts in Lanarkshire, has no assets.

He was declared bankrupt while behind bars in July.

Singh advertised prostitutes’ services online.

His attitude to women was apparent when he was a regular BBC reality show “Common Sense” in 2017, offering his “spin” on the news.

He said: “Men like sex. I’m not saying women don’t like sex.

“I think men like sex better. Women are always tired.”

Singh was jailed with three others in 2022.

They faced charges spanning 21 months.

A source said: “He was once a credited entrepreneur, but his crime has dragged him into the gutter.”

Common Sense was narrated by Gavin and Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones, 56, and ran on BBC Two for six episodes in 2016.

A publicity blurb at the time said members of the public were picked for “their sharp wit and humorous take on life”.

Singh appeared in scenes shot at his then launderette in Glasgow’s west end — where his customers included footballers, lawyers, judges, and actors from telly shows Balamory and Still Game.

Known to pals as Jerry, he was seen chatting with his ex-wife about topics such as David Beckham and stress eating.

But later he teamed up with his lover, “female boss” Donglin Zhang, 48, and Albanian Vlassis Ntaoulias, 33, to set up a network of brothels across Glasgow.

Boonsong Wannas, 62, from Thailand also helped them bring in women from Asia, who were forced to provide sex services from August 2018 to February 2020.

Their vile business unravelled after cops went to a Glasgow premises and found a distressed Chinese woman inside who revealed she’d been compelled to sell her body.

Singh was arrested after raids on another seven brothels.

He was convicted of sex trafficking after a trial at the High Court in the city and caged for ten years.

He’d previously been locked up in Ireland for fraud.

Zhang got eight years while Ntaoulias was jailed for seven years and Wannas for six years and four months.
