Not Even Vampire Hunter D Could Top the Dracula Interpretation This Anime Nailed, Leaving Every Live-Action in the Dust

The concept of vampires has been a part of the entertainment industry for the longest time. Among the vampires, the strongest one is called Dracula, and he has been interpreted multiple times in all kinds of anime series, live-action adaptations, games, TV series, etc. However, all of those interpretations have a lot of differences, so fans get confused about what the real interpretation of Dracula would look like.

While fans have argued about the most perfect interpretation of Dracula, a popular content creator on Instagram known as @imtropicaljoe has revealed the answer to this debate. According to him, the best Dracula interpretation has been featured in the popular anime series Castlevania created and written by Warren Ellis for Netflix.

Although, just like any other interpretation, the Dracula of Castlevania is also a villain, his story is more profound and intense than the rest. It justifies his antagonistic intentions and makes him the perfect villain and ultimately the best Dracula out of all.

The Dracula of Castlevania

The Dracula in Castlevania majorly featured in the first two seasons of the series as the main antagonist. But his story has more to it, and it is portrayed in the series, making him look like an enticing character. Initially, he was portrayed like any other brutal Vampire King who killed humans and stayed in solidarity.

However, all of it changed when he met Lisa, who came to his castle in search of scientific knowledge. Lisa was different than other humans Dracula had encountered, as she was not afraid of him. Their interactions developed into a romantic relationship, which led to the two marrying each other and having a baby together.

Lisa was a positive spirit who forced Dracula to learn more about humanity and find out the goodness of humans. When Dracula left on his journey, the villagers decided to arrest her on the charges of witchcraft and execute her, burning her alive. This led to Dracula enraging to the point that he decided to wage a war on humanity.

Castlevania’s Dracula is the Best Dracula Interpretation in History

According to @imtropicaljoe, Castlevania’s Dracula is the best interpretation of the character of Dracula in television’s history.

The thing that makes him the best is the depiction of his growth from a negative character to a positive character and then back to being a negative character. Almost every unique aspect of his persona is used perfectly, be it his immortality or his years of knowledge.

His actions as the Vampire King against humanity are justified by the fact that he was willing to accept humanity just because of his wife, and the humans killed her because of it. He was perfectly ready to be a part of the human world, discarding all of his sinister ideologies, but it was not in the cards.

His depiction during the preparation of war against humanity also foreshadows the pain of losing his wife. He still feels it even after so long, and although he understands the consequences of his actions, he is willing to accept them as long as he gets his revenge. Castlevania’s Dracula was truly one of the, if not the best, interpretations of the evil Vampire King.

Castlevania is available to watch on Netflix.
