CORTLAND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Carol M. Hyde, Cortland, was born July 27, 1945 to Edna Williams Hyde and Charles Potter Hyde. She left this life on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
She graduated as valedictorian from Bristol High School & from Kent State University with a degree in math, psychology & driver education. Her masters’ degree in education was from College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati and postgraduate degree, an Administrative Supervision License, from Youngstown State.
She retired with over 30 years at W. G. Harding High School.
She was active in the Warren Education Association. She donated 11 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.
After retirement, she built a second home in Pennsylvania & returned to school to become a Pennsylvania EMT, Emergency Medical Technician, where she volunteered her time 24/7 with Kettle Creek Ambulance in Cross Fork, Potter County, Pennsylvania. She also studied to receive certification at the county level in Emergency Management & volunteered with the Potter County Emergency Management Agency. Her certification was recognized by both PEMA & FEMA.
There will be no services as cremation has taken place as Carol wished. Her ashes will be spread in her daffodils in the spring on her nearly 20 acres in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania.
